Rich Blenkinsopp – Bio
Rich is a native of Bristol, England, where he studied trumpet and music technology while holding down a job as an insurance administrator. A move to Newfoundland, Canada in 1999 turned life upside down, and made music his main focus. He currently works as a Music Technology Specialist and course instructor at Memorial University of Newfoundland’s School of Music. He has a diploma in Music for the Media and now runs Studio Bee Music for all his non-university music making.

Rich has recorded albums as a trumpet player with Funky Dory (Fists of Funk), Chris Kirby and the Marquee (Rum and Religion and Vampire Hotel) and Hey Rosetta (Into Your Lungs), and has performed live in many stage shows with Tada Events and Beothuck Street Players, including Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Gypsy and Chicago. He has performed in the TaDa events annual “Diva’s” show for the past five years and occasionally performs on the School of Music Concert Series with faculty performers Paul Bendzsa and Rob Power. Other notable performances include those with the Newfoundland Symphony/Pops Orchestra, Jazz East Big Band, Jazz Express Big Band, Memorial University Jazz Ensemble, Kelly-Ann Evans Band, Billy and the Bruisers and Traces Dance Band.
His audio production credits include recording engineer, virtual orchestrator, composer, editor, mix engineer and sound designer.
Rich lives with his wife Kelly in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
